Nothing Significant Is Achieved Alone

I was sent confirmation that my first image in a national fashion magazine was published. I'm not the person in the image, nor did I connect myself with this sweet little girl. A photographer must constantly study to elevate the quality of his or her work. That's a given, but it's not enough. We also need marketing and others skilled at networking to link us with subjects.

For close to a year, I've been photographing models from The Mary Therese Friel Modeling Agency, here in Rochester, NY. They've been wonderful partners, connecting me with models who fit my style of photography. Also, it was the mother of this little girl who initiated inclusion of her daughter into this publication.

So, as I begin another week, I thank all those who blend their expertise with mine, allowing us all to become far more than ourselves. I thank every person making me larger than myself: my teachers, photographer colleagues, family, friends, referral sources, and subjects valuing my skills and joining me to create magic. In this way, life is truly win-win, and mutually enriching!
